PKLI Celebrates International Nurses Day
International Nurses Day was celebrated at the Pakistan Kidney and Liver Institute and Research Center (PKLI&RC). The event was organized by the Nursing Department to honor the hard work and dedication of nurses. As the Chief Guest, Ms. Farzana Iqbal, Principal of the College of Nursing at Allama Iqbal Medical College, Lahore, and Additional Director General of Nursing Academics in Punjab graced the occasion.
Ms. Kalsoom Ramzan, Nursing Director PKLI&RC expressed her special gratitude to the nurses at PKLI and worldwide. She shared her thoughts on this year’s theme, “Our Nurses Our Future, the Economic Power of Care” for 2024. Ms. Ramzan acknowledged the crucial role of nurses in delivering high-quality care, often working tirelessly without breaks. She emphasized nurses’ selfless service and dedication in an organ transplantation facility, highlighting their importance to doctors and patients.
The event was attended by Dr. Mobin Chaudry, Acting Dean PKLI; Dr. Faisal Amir, Hospital Director PKLI; Mr. Asim Hameed, Director Finance PKLI; and Ms. Aisha Latif, Director Human Resource. The event featured several activities, including poster presentations related to the theme of International Nurses Day, a quiz competition and the announcement of the best nurse for unit and staff management.
At the end, PKLI management awarded certificates and shields to the winners to acknowledge their achievements in their respective fields.
