Overview
Dr Altaf has completed his post-graduation in Medical Microbiology from Manchester & Liverpool. He served Aga khan University, Ziauddin Medical University, Liaquat National Hospital and Indus Hospital Karachi. Currently, he is heading Infection Control Department and Clinical Microbiology at PKLI&RC.
He served as President of the Infectious Diseases Society of Pakistan.
He is a board member of INICC, Associate Member IFIC,
Co-chair International Society of Chemotherapy and American Society of Microbiology. He is serving as Patron of the Infection Prevention Nurses Association. He has also established one of the largest Tuberculosis diagnostic laboratories approved by WHO.
Dr Altaf has extensive experience in academic research and has more than 50 publications.
He is also WHO Consultant for infection control, Member technical working group, primary and secondary health care Punjab.
