Overview
Dr. Bilal Ahmad Shoukat is a Consultant Gastroenterologist & Transplant Hepatologist with over 13 years of clinical experience, including advanced training across leading centers in Ireland and the UK. He graduated from Allama Iqbal Medical College, Lahore, and completed fellowships in Transplant Hepatology at the National Liver Transplant Unit (Ireland) and Advanced Endoscopy at University Hospitals Birmingham (UK). He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (Glasgow) and a member of both the UK and Irish Royal Colleges.
At the Pakistan Kidney and Liver Institute (PKLI), Lahore, Dr. Shoukat plays a central role in the transplant hepatology service and is leading the development of a state-of-the-art GI Motility Laboratory. His clinical interests span GI motility disorders, complex luminal polyps, celiac disease, inflammatory bowel disease, bowel cancer screening, and transplant hepatology.
He is also involved in research focusing on the high prevalence of liver diseases in Pakistan, with a particular emphasis on Wilson’s Disease.
