Dr Javed graduated from King Edward Medical College and trained in General Medicine & Pulmonary Medicine in the UK. He was elected Fellow of Royal Colleges, (from Glasgow in 1995 and London in 1997).

He has over 35 years of clinical experience in Pulmonary medicine working in major tertiary care hospitals in the UK and Saudi Arabia.

He established 1^st Sleep center in the western region of KSA in 1998 and a non-invasive ventilation service for non-ICU patients and a home ventilation program. He Introduced specialized clinics for difficult Asthma, COPD & Pulmonary Hypertension.

He published as a co-author in National Guidelines for management of Pulmonary Hypertension, Pneumonia, Asthma and is a Lead Author for COPD guidelines.

His publications are included in major peer-review journals, including 1^st reports on Sleep apnea, Sarcoidosis, COPD. Author of  Book chapters. He is also an Associate Editor of the indexed journals and a regular contributor to regional seminars, scientific Congresses and societies.
