Dr. Syed Sohail H. Naqvi

Dr. Syed Sohail H. Naqvi holds the position of the fourth Vice Chancellor at LUMS University, Lahore. His professional background includes serving as the Executive Director of the Higher Education Commission (HEC). During his tenure at HEC, he played a key role in formulating and implementing a comprehensive strategy for the revitalization of Pakistan's university education sector. With a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and a wealth of teaching and research experience in both the United States and Pakistan, Dr. Naqvi has earned multiple patents. Additionally, he has been involved in collaborating with startups to bring advanced technological innovations to the market. Dr. Naqvi has also contributed as a member of the Human Resource Development at the Ministry of Science and Technology, IT&T Division in Pakistan. Prior to these roles, he served as the Vice President Operations at Communications Enabling Technologies, Islamabad.

Dr. Naqvi obtained his BSc, MSc, and PhD degrees, all in Electrical Engineering, from Purdue University, USA. He initially worked as an Assistant and Associate Professor of Electrical Engineering at the University of New Mexico, Albuquerque, USA, before returning to Pakistan. Upon his return, he joined the Faculty of Electronics at the GIK Institute of Technology, where he held positions as Professor and Dean.
