Dr. M. Yasir Khan has been serving as a Consultant HPB/Liver Transplant Surgeon at PKLI&RC since March 2018. He is a pioneer member of the surgical team that established the Liver Transplant Program at PKLI&RC and has successfully completed over 900 Living Donor Liver Transplants across both adult and pediatric populations.

In addition to transplant procedures, Dr. Khan has performed a substantial number of complex liver and pancreatic surgeries for both benign and malignant conditions. He has played a key role in the development of transplant policies and guidelines in Pakistan. As a subject expert, he has served on various subcommittees of the Punjab Human Organ Transplant Authority (PHOTA), contributing to the formulation of rules for Paired Exchange Transplantation, Living Related Liver Transplantation, Pancreatic Transplant, and Cadaveric Transplantation.

At PKLI&RC, Dr. Khan compiled the Liver Transplant Policy and was a contributing member of the subcommittee responsible for developing Donor and Recipient Care Pathway Guidelines. His involvement extends to over 1,500 living donor liver transplants, demonstrating his deep expertise and experience in the field.

He is also a supervisor and trainer for postgraduate doctors in HPB and liver transplant surgery under the FCPS program by the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan.

Dr. Yasir Khan has represented PKLI&RC as an invited speaker and master trainer at numerous renowned surgical and hepatology forums. Furthermore, he serves as the country leader for an international, multicenter liver transplant registry, and has represented

Pakistan at prestigious platforms such as ILDLT and ILTS, where he contributed as an expert member in the formulation of international donor safety guidelines.

He is also an accomplished academic, having authored multiple scientific papers published in reputed national and international journals.
