Patient & Visitor Guide
Quality healthcare is of the utmost importance to every patient at PKLI&RC and that includes not only their treatment by our medical team but also their initial and subsequent interactions with Clinical and Non-Clinical staff. We believe that every appointment is a complete experience for the patients, from start to finish. Being friendly and helpful to each patient when they show up at our doors for their appointment sets a positive tone for the whole span of their stay at the hospital. In addition to maintaining a pleasant demeanor with the patients, it is equally important for us to make sure all of their demographic and medical information is current when they arrive for their appointments. Even if the patient visits the Hospital frequently or has recently been there, it is still imperative to have them verify that they are well aware of the admission procedures of the Hospital. This proves to be time saving as well as helps the Hospital staff in accommodating a larger number of patients on daily basis.
For new registration at PKLI, patients are required to complete the following documentation requirements:
- For Adults (18 years and above):
- Original CNIC (Computerized National Identity Card) or Passport
- For Children aged 5 years and above:
- B-Form (Child Registration Certificate)
- For Children under 5 years of age:
- Birth Certificate
These documents are mandatory for registration and must be presented during the registration process.
- The first thing that the patient needs to do upon arriving at PKLI&RC is to get himself signed up at the counter and obtain his token as per his turn and category.
- If the patient comes with Kidney or Liver disease and needs financial support, he will be screened by Triage doctor. If the patient disease comes under scope of PKLI&RC then he will be sent to Financial Screening Department. (If the treatment for the patient’s illness is not available at the Hospital, the Scope Triage staff will refer him to other medical institutions).
- If the patient comes for checkup on self-payment status then ‘Registration Counter’ will confirm the specialty from Medical Officer and if walk-in slot is available, the patient will proceed for the next counter. If the doctor’s schedule is fully booked then next available appointment will be given.
- The Financial Screening staff, after completing their process, will guide the patient about the percentage of financial support provided by PKLI&RC and will send him to visit the “Registration Counter.”
- Once the Registration process completes, the patient next moves on to the “Cashier’s Counter” for invoice..
- Once the patient dues are cleared, the patient then, as per his turn, moves on to the “Vital Assessment Counter,” where his Vitals are assessed and recorded.
- The patient now moves to “Nursing Station” to confirm his availability to the concerned staff who is maintaining the queue list of patients for a meet-up with the Doctor.
- After Check-up, the patient once again proceeds to the Nursing Station, where the concerned staff guides the patient as per the Doctor’s instructions (such as labs, medicine etc.) and books for next appointment. A porter will be allotted to the patient in case he needs to visit any further areas of the Hospital, otherwise the patient will be guided towards the exit so that the next patient can be accommodated.
